Two Bradford companies have been fined a total of £150,000 for making nuisance calls.
Virgo Home Improvements was fined £80,000 and Safestyle UK was ordered to pay £70,000.
The companies had both made direct marketing calls to people registered with the telephone preference service and contacted people after being told explicitly not to call again.
The Information Commissioner’s Office received 264 complaints about Safestyle UK in 20 months and 440 complaints about Virgo Home Improvements in 19 months.
If they offend again the companies could be taken to court.
