Tributes have been paid to an aid worker from Rochdale who died in a car crash whilst working in Mozambique.
Basharat Hussain had travelled to the country to carry out relief work following a devastating cyclone for international charity Ummah Welfare Trust.
He lost his life, along with another aid worker, when the car they were travelling in hit a stationary vehicle.
Basharat’s brother Mujahid Hussain said: “Basharat was a selfless man. Humble, kind and generous with his time. He was always looking to see how best he could help serve the needs of others.
"He absolutely loved helping those less fortunate and working for Ummah Welfare Trust was a dream come true. Basharat never thought twice to help someone in need.”
