A Bradford teenager who stole a car to ferry his friends to steal more vehicles has been jailed.
Jared Lupton, 18, from Holme Wood, stole a BMW from an address in Guiseley on the night of Wednesday 21 November.
Leeds Crown Court heard how he used the car to transport three other people to an address in Alverthorpe, Wakefield, where they stole three more cars.
Following the burglary Lupton led police on a chase after failing to stop. The pursuit ended in a crash on Whitechapel Road, Cleckheaton, when the BMW burst into flames.
He pleaded guilty to burglary of a dwelling, handling stolen goods, three offences of theft and dangerous driving, and was handed a 50-month prison sentence.
