Three people have been arrested following a stabbing outside Dewsbury bus station which left a 17-year-old boy seriously injured. Police say the incident was targeted and enquiries are continuing.
Police enquiries are continuing after a teenage boy was stabbed outside Dewsbury bus station on Friday (16th Jan) afternoon.
Officers were called to the scene shortly after 3pm following reports of fighting involving a number of people, during which a male was stabbed. Suspects were reported to have fled the area in different directions before police arrived.
Emergency services located a 17-year-old boy who had suffered a serious leg injury caused by a bladed weapon. He was taken to hospital for treatment, and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Following enquiries, detectives from Kirklees CID have arrested a 35-year-old woman from Dewsbury and a 23-year-old man, also from Dewsbury, on suspicion of affray. Both remain in police custody for questioning.
The 17-year-old, who continues to receive medical treatment, has also been arrested on suspicion of affray.
Detectives believe the incident was targeted and are continuing to appeal for information and footage. Officers have thanked members of the public who have already come forward.
