Bradford Council’s Executive is set to consider £1.9 million of additional investment in leisure facilities, museums and family hubs, alongside an update showing improved financial stability.
Bradford Council’s Executive will next week consider an additional one-point-nine million pounds of investment in swimming pools, leisure facilities, museums and family hubs.
If approved, the funding will support improvements at pools including Eccleshill, Ilkley Lido, Shipley and Bowling, alongside a new outdoor gym at Haworth Road Play Area and a wheelchair lift at Bolling Hall Museum.
The plan also includes new exercise bikes for council leisure centres and further support for the Family Hubs Start for Life programme.
Councillors will also review the latest finance update, showing a forecast underspend of nearly fourteen million pounds this year. The council says recent Government funding increases and financial management mean its recovery plan could be completed two years earlier than expected.
Council Leader Susan Hinchcliffe said progress had been made, but careful spending and continued service transformation remain essential.
