Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Bradford.
At 6.25pm on Friday (23/9) police were called to Idle Road where a 71-year-old male pedestrian had been involved in a collision with a blue Peugeot Bipper van at the junction with Myers Lane. The injured man was treated by paramedics at the scene but was pronounced dead a short time later.
The vehicle, which had been heading in the direction of Bolton Road at the time of the collision, left the scene down Myers Lane. It was found parked up in nearby street at about 8pm . A 28-year-old man, from Bradford, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop after a collision.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the movements of vehicle or the deceased man in the moments prior to it.
