Police investigating a number of assaults in Bury town centre are appealing for information.
At around 4am on Saturday 2 July 2016, police were called to reports that a man had been assaulted on Silver Street by a group of men, before they fled the scene.
The man sustained series facial injuries during the attack.
A man aged 19 and two men aged 20 have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and bailed until 17 October 2016 in connection with this incident.
Investigating officers have since established that on the same night a number of assaults took place in the town centre after a group of men began randomly attacking people who crossed their path.
Police are now appealing for anybody who witnessed or has been the target of the assaults to come forward.
Detective Constable Mike Weeden of GMP’s Bury borough said: “Since the original incident was reported to us just over a month ago, we have carried out a number of enquiries and have now established that a number of other assaults took place on the same night.
“We are appealing for anybody who may have witnessed this or who may have fallen victim to one of the attacks to please come forward.”
Anybody with information should contact police on 0161 856 8045/8152 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
