Police are appealing for information after a cash delivery driver was robbed by masked men with a crowbar and a sledgehammer in Bury.
Shortly after 7am on Friday 16 September 2016, two men entered a shop on Spring Street.
The pair threatened two security guards who were making a cash delivery with a crowbar and a sledgehammer and stole a cash box before fleeing the scene in a black Peugeot 207.
The vehicle was found burnt out a short time later between James Street and Alfred Street.
The men are both described as white. One was wearing a blue jacket and a balaclava and the other was wearing a black jacket and a balaclava.
An investigation has been launched and police are now appealing for witnesses.
Detective Constable Dave Potter, of GMP’s Bury borough, said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the victims and has understandably left them both extremely shaken.
“Thankfully, nobody was injured but this could’ve had far more serious consequences."
“This happened at a busy shop, early in the morning when lots of people would’ve been around and seen something."
“I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the black Peugeot 207 or two men acting suspiciously to come forward.”
