A new video blog has been launched showing new recruits being put through their paces as they undergo intensive training to become a police officer.
PC Pawel Magiera originally from Poland, but lived in the UK for the past 12 years, had also dreamed of becoming an officer since a young age.
He worked at a psychiatric hospital for 11 years until he decided to apply for a role at West Yorkshire Police.
Throughout his training Pawel will be documenting his progress to show exactly what it takes to become an officer in the Force.
Along with a group of 24 trainee constables, he is currently six weeks into his training and focusing on practical tasks such as how to put on handcuffs, explaining the powers a police officer has, how to communicate properly with others and also how to ensure the safety of members of the public and other officers.
The group has a further six weeks to go until they become police officers.
PC Pawel Magiera said: "I've always wanted to do a job to help people and that's why I wanted to join West Yorkshire Police.
"At the moment I am doing some safety training - the training is quite difficult and there is a lot of information to take in, but it is also very enjoyable.
"I hope my video blog will show an insight into the training each and every officer goes through when they join West Yorkshire Police and inspire others to look into a career with the Force.
"I am very proud to have been selected to do the training to become an officer and looking forward to serving as a police constable at West Yorkshire Police."
