On Sunday (10 June) afternoon the body of a woman believed to be in her 70s was discovered at a property on Balderstone Road in Kirkholt.
A 55-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.
Greater Manchester Police said enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death remain ongoing.

“While we have a man in custody, our investigation is in its very early stages and we would urge anyone with any information that could assist our enquiries to get in touch.”
