The uncle of Bradford woman Samia Shahid who died in Pakistan in an alleged so-called "honour killing" has been arrested on suspicion of falsifying medical files.
28 year old Samia Shahid, died in July in northern Punjab and a post mortem proved that her death was due to strangulation rather than a heart attack as the family had alleged.
Her former husband, Chaudhry Muhammad Shakeel, is accused of murder, reportedly having confessed to strangling her with a scarf and Chaudhry Muhammad Shahid, her father, is being held as an accessory to her murder.
It is understood that her uncle Haq Nawaz was arrested by police in Jhelum after he allegedly attempted to prove she died of natural causes.
Also it has emerged that Aqeel Abbas the policeman who initially headed the murder investigation has also been arrested for allegedly trying to conceal evidence.
Police in Pakistan are working to have her mother and sister returned from the UK to be questioned in relation to the investigation.
