Police investigating a fatal collision near Hebden Bridge are appealing for information.
Officers were called to the scene of the collision at around 11.26 today (Thursday 11/8) after the body of a 21-year-old local man was discovered a short distance from Burnley Road near to the junction of Carr Lane.
A red Yamaha motorcycle and debris was located nearby and enquiries are ongoing to determine the full circumstances of what took place. It is believed the motorcycle may have left the road and collided with a tree.
The motorcyclist, was last seen in Hebden Bridge around 1.30am on Wednesday 10th August.
Sergeant Carl Quinn of the Major Collision Enquiry Team said; "This is a busy stretch of road and I would appeal to anyone that may have been travelling in and around the area who may have seen the motorcycle, or who has any information to come forward. Our enquiries are continuing to understand what has happened."
Road closures were in place between Station Road at Hebden Bridge and New Road at Mytholmroyd whilst officers conducted their investigation.
Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team via 101 quoting 452 of the 11/8.
