Two men have appeared in court charged with firearms offences following a police operation in Huddersfield and Holmfirth last week.

Dale Myers, 44, of Taylor Hill Road, Huddersfield, has been charged with possession of a firearm without a certificate and possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate.

Darren Frost, 54, of Elm Avenue, Thongsbridge, Holmfirth, has been charged with possession of a firearm without a certificate, possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate, possession of a firearm when prohibited for life, and possession of controlled drugs.

Both men appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court on Saturday and were remanded in custody pending a further hearing on 12 October.

Two women, aged 36 and 45, remain on police bail.

The four were arrested after armed officers stopped a vehicle in New Laithe Road, Huddersfield, at 5.35pm on Thursday 10 September and then carried out a firearms operation in Elm Avenue, Thongsbridge, Holmfirth, later the same day.
