A fourth arrest has been made by officers investigating an attempted murder in Oldham.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested this morning (26 March) in connection with the attack at the Freehold Metrolink stop in Chadderton on 8 March.
At 9.36pm that day a man was leaving a tram when a group of passengers began hitting him as he attempted to leave the platform.
The 49-year-old was then subjected to a sustained, unprovoked attack after being knocked unconscious.
A tram travelling in the opposite direction saw the ongoing assault and the driver stopped to intervene, as well as passengers.
On Saturday (24 March) officers arrested three 15-year-old boys – two joining today’s arrest on suspicion of attempted murder and one on suspicion of assisting an offender.
