Cyclists are getting ready for a 258-mile ride in memory of the murdered MP, Jo Cox, next week.
The second annual Jo Cox Way bike ride will see a determined bunch of 30 cyclists pedal their way from the late MP’s constituency of Batley and Spen to the Houses of Parliament.
Cycling coach David Morton is putting a unique spin on this year’s ride – opting to negotiate the route on a former Royal Mail postal bike, complete with basket and soft toys.
The bike was provided by the charity Elephant Bike, which helps recondition postal bikes and sends one to the African country Malawi for every one sold in the UK.
The cyclists will leave Princess Mary Stadium on Wednesday, 26 July, and hope to arrive at Westminster four days later.
