A convoy of emergency services vehicles met a landing plane at Leeds-Bradford Airport last night (5 April 2017).
Fire, ambulance and police crews were called out to the airport following a report from the crew of a plane, concerned about hydraulic problems with the landing gears.
The Jet2 plane was flying in from Cyprus, carrying 111 people. It managed to make a safe landing but was not the trip home the holidaymakers would have expected.
A member of the fire crew from Cleckheaton Fire Station said: “We were all called as a precaution. There were eight fire appliances, several ambulances and a host of police cars all on standby ready to support the air crew. Luckily, our services were not needed.”
