As part of a national campaign to tackle knife crime, from Friday 24 June additional Greater Manchester Police officers will be deployed across the north of Manchester, over every weekend throughout the summer, until Sunday 1 September.
The force said the initial operation will target specific hotspots in the north throughout the busier summer months.
It was added that officers will be using all appropriate powers at their disposal to disrupt and prosecute those who routinely carry weapons and commit serious violent crime.
