Bradford Council has successfully secured over £200,000 of government funding to help home local rough sleepers.
The council will work with district homelessness organisations to appoint two ‘Navigators’, specialist support workers, to assist rough sleepers from the Bradford-based street outreach hub.
The authority will also use the funding to support vulnerable people currently housed in short-term accommodation to find longer-term housing.
Steve Hartley, Strategic Director of the Department of Place, said: “This additional funding will add to a wide range of services the Council provides to prevent and tackle homelessness.
“The money will be used to intensively support some of the most vulnerable rough sleepers, many of whom have complex and enduring needs.”
