New research has found that Leeds and Bradford charities are amongst the most confident in the country.
The study, carried out by the Weston Charity Awards, claims over two thirds (68 per cent) of local charity leaders surveyed expect to help more local people in 2018, outstripping the national average of 59 per cent. Yet charity leaders in Yorkshire cities are preparing to feel the strain with around half (47 per cent) predicting their income will stagnate or decline over the next year.
Despite most charities in the region looking optimistic, nearly two thirds (63 per cent) of them say that the pressure of tackling day to day operational matters is preventing them from taking a long-term view and nearly three quarters (74 per cent) don’t have the budget to bring in specialist expertise in this area.
