A woman was subjected to an attempted rape in a Bolton churchyard.
The victim, in her 20s, was reportedly attacked in the early hours of yesterday morning, 6 July, in the grounds of Bolton Parish Church, which is in the centre of town.
Items were also stolen from the victim during the attack.
A cordon was put in place around the church as an investigation was launched.
No description of the suspect has yet been released by police and no arrests have been made.
The woman is receiving support from specially trained officers following the incident.
