Police have launched an attempted murder investigation after a man was shot in Salford.
Police believe the victim, a man in his 20s, had been attending a club night at Kingston Mill, Cobden Street, Salford on Friday (23 November) evening before he was later shot outside the venue three times.
He was taken to hospital at around 5.30am on Saturday November 24 and remains in a stable condition with gunshot wounds which are not believed to be life threatening.
Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the wider community.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forwarded.
Detective Inspector Ben Cottam of GMP’s City of Manchester Division said: “We want to reassure the public that a full investigation has been launched and officers are following numerous lines of enquiry in relation to this incident.
“We are treating this shooting as attempted murder. While we are making good progress with our investigations, I would like to appeal to members of the public for any information they may have.
“This was a well-attended club event and there are potentially a number of witnesses who may be able to assist with our enquiries.
“I want to reiterate that this is believed to be a targeted attack and there is no threat to the wider community.
“Residents in the area of the shooting may notice an increased visible police presence, and we would encourage members of the public to approach officers with any concerns they may have.”
