Local charity Age UK Bradford District has been working hard behind the scenes to bring a new event to Bradford city centre.
On Saturday 29 September, thrill-seekers will be able to Zip Slide their way across City Park from a height of 45 metres – that’s the equivalent of ten double decker buses stacked one on top of the other.
Participants will be raised up in a platform via a crane in Centenary Square and then zip over City Park, landing nearly 200 metres away from where their journey began.
The Chief Executive of Age UK Bradford District, Mark Rounding, explained: “We are absolutely delighted to be able to bring this fantastic event to Bradford and hope that people will be as excited about it as we are. As an independent local charity, we rely to a great extent on the support that we can generate throughout Bradford District and we feel that the Zip Slide will be an excellent opportunity for us to raise awareness about our services and fundraise for the work that we do. It will definitely be a lot of fun!”
