West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges (WYCC) has successfully secured funding totalling £5.5m under its new Joint Venture agreement.
The funding is the first of its kind secured under the new agreement which formally unites Bradford College, Calderdale College, Kirklees College, Leeds College of Building, Leeds City College, Shipley College and Wakefield College who together formed WYCC in 2002.
The new funding will enable low skilled, low paid workers to receive training that the consortium believes will support career progression and reduce benefit dependency.
