An investigation is underway after a woman was robbed at knifepoint at a hairdresser’s shop in Droylsden.
A 43-year-old woman was working in the shop on Market street when a man entered, claiming that somebody was chasing him. The woman asked him to leave but he produced a Stanley knife from his pocket and held it to her neck.
He demanded that she opened the safe, which the victim did, and he fled with cash stuffed down his trousers, running onto Chapel Street.
Police have asked for anyone with information or who may have been in the area at the time to get in touch.
