Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at a cashpoint near a pub in Huddersfield town centre.
The incident occurred at around 3.25pm on Tuesday 26th April, near to the Old Hatte pub, as the 17-year-old female victim was withdrawing money from the cashpoint on the junction of Henry Street and Trinity Street.
The victim was approached by a male suspect, who demanded her purse and phone. He took the victim’s purse and walked off on Westgate and towards Trinity Street and McDonald’s.
The suspect is described as a black male, late twenties, around 6ft 4ins, muscular build, wearing a black hooded top with kangaroo pouch and hood up, black trousers and black Nike air max trainers. He spoke with a local accent
Detective Constable Mick Cummings, of Kirklees CID said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this distressing incident to come forward and speak to the police.
"The incident occurred in the busy town centre and in broad daylight. Anyone who was also approached by this suspect or saw him in the vicinity is asked to contact me at Kirklees CID via 101, quoting reference number 13160178579 or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
