A woman was left lying in the road after a man hit her over the head with a bottle in Bolton.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident which occurred sometime between 4.30am and 4.45am on Sunday 4 February when a woman was outside the Food Factory on Bradshawgate.
The 20-year-old was holding a bottle of alcohol when a man approached her and tried to pull the bottle out of her hands.
There was a brief struggle where she let go of the bottle and the attacker then hit her on the head with it.
The woman was left lying in the middle of the road with a head wound, which required hospital treatment.
A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of section 20 assault but has since been released under investigation.
