Police are appealing for any witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision on the A58 Whitehall Road, Wyke in the early hours of Sunday.
The incident happened at 01.12am near to the Wyke Lion public house.
A Toyota IQ2 was travelling along Huddersfield Road in the direction of Bradford when it and a pedestrian were in collision.
As a result of the collision a 51-year-old local woman suffered serious injuries and died a short time later.
Sgt Matthew Tunney of the Major Collision and Enquiry Team, said: "I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident and in particular anyone who saw either the vehicle or the pedestrian, who was thought to be with another person at the time, immediately before the incident to get in contact."
