A woman has been jailed after a head-on collision in Bolton.
Violeta Taraskevic, 34, of Brierwood, Bolton pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Shortly before 5.15am on Monday 7 August, police were called to reports of a serious collision involving a BMW 530 and a Chevrolet Matiz on Tonge Moor Road.
Taraskevic, the driver of the BMW, was travelling away from Bolton Town Centre when she reached a left-hand bend.
Due to the level of her intoxication, she was unable to negotiate the turn without passing onto the opposite carriageway where she collided head-on with the Chevrolet Matiz, causing the 42-year-old driver, Ian Wilcox, to sustain life threatening injuries.
He was taken to hospital where he sadly died.
Taraskevic was jailed yesterday, 4 October, for four years and eight months at Bolton Crown Court after appearing via video link.
She is also disqualified from driving for six years and five months.
