A woman is in a critical condition after being stabbed in South Manchester.
At around 1.05am yesterday morning, Sunday 30 October 2016, police were called to a report that a 30-year-old woman had been stabbed numerous times at the junction of Shadowmoss Road and Cornishway.
She was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds and injuries to her head and neck. She remains in a critical condition.
Officers attended and a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody for questioning.
Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses.
Detective Inspector Tony Lea of GMP’s City of Manchester Team, said: “Sadly a woman is in a critical condition in hospital after being attacked in the early hours of the morning.
“We have a man in custody in connection with the stabbing but we still need witnesses to come forward and help us with the investigation.
