West Yorkshire Police received more calls in one day last week than on New Year’s Eve.
On Friday 13 October, the force received more calls than what is traditionally the busiest day of the year for police forces.
In total, 1,642 calls were made to the 999 service on Friday, compared to 1,621 on 31 December 2016.
As a result of the increased demand, West Yorkshire Police are reminding the public that there are several ways to contact police, rather than calling the 999 service.
