Five buildings in Yorkshire have received prestigious awards aimed at highlighting “great architecture” across the county.
The prizes were presented by the Royal Institute of British Architects (Riba) at a special ceremony in Leeds last night (16 May).
Two buildings from West Yorkshire were recognised - The Weston at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, near Wakefield, and Merrion House in Leeds.
Stephen Hill, Riba regional jury chair, said: "Whether careful adaptations of historic buildings, the reinvigoration of a tired 70s office or a completely new building, these are all thoughtful and considered projects each exhibiting their own special qualities."
