Police in Yorkshire and the Humber are issuing further warnings following a spate of drug related deaths.
Drug users are being warned about the risk of deadly batches of heroin being circulated on the region’s streets.
Enquiries have led police to believe that dealers are deliberately contaminating Class A drugs with Fentanyl and Carfentanyl – substances that are both massively more potent than street heroin.
Fentanyl is 100 times more potent than street heroin with Carfentanyl 100 times more potent than that. Fentanyl is an anaesthesia used to help prevent pain after surgery or other medical procedures, whilst Carfentanyl is used on animals. They have the same effects as morphine but are significantly more powerful.
