The family of 28-year-old Christopher Ramsdale who was killed in a car crash have said the eight-year sentence handed to the driver who caused the accident "does not reflect the loss".
Christopher died after his car was by Michael Taylor's car Droylsden's Greenside Road in October.
Taylor, 26, of Heather Avenue, Droylsden, admitted causing death by dangerous driving at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.
Mr Ramsdale's family said his "reckless act" had left them devastated.
Greater Manchester Police said Taylor's car crashed into Mr Ramsdale's vehicle just before 02:30am on 1st October. He then ran away from the scene, but was later arrested.
Mr Ramsdale was taken to hospital, but later died of his injuries.
At court, Taylor also admitted assault and criminal damage.
Speaking after sentencing, PC Neil Pennington said he hoped the conviction would give Mr Ramsdale's family "the justice they deserve".
