The UK’s first Muslim astronaut spoke to students at Bradford College.
Hussain Manawer, who is also a performance poet and mental health campaigner, gave a talk yesterday, 14 December, to inspire Bradford’s youth.
Through his work, Hussain hopes to alleviate the stigma that exists around the topic of mental health. Most recently, he set a Guinness World Record for the 'World's Largest Mental Health Lesson.'
Hussain said: "Performance poetry gives me the opportunity to capture my imagination in words. It allows me to express those feelings and abstract thoughts in a way that provides a release and helps me to make sense of things."
He told students about mental health, how the arts can be used to express yourself and about becoming the best you can be.
