A teenager was stabbed during an assault by a group of men in Hulme.
At around 5.40pm on Sunday 29 April, Greater Manchester Police were called to reports that a teenager had been assaulted on Lingmoor Walk.
The 17-year-old was approached by a group of men wearing balaclavas who stabbed the teenager several times.
As the victim fell to the ground, the four men fled from the scene in what is believed to be a gold Fiat.
The teenager was taken to hospital for treatment of his serious injuries and has since been released.
Enquiries into the full circumstances around the incident are ongoing and police are appealing for information.
Detective Inspector Gary Smith of GMP’s City of Manchester Division, said: "This was a violent attack on a young man. The use of knives to threaten or harm people is absolutely unacceptable and we need the public’s help to find those responsible.
"We have increased the number of patrols in the area, so please, if you saw anything suspicious yesterday evening, or know something that could help this investigation, speak to these officers directly."
