A Bradford man has been jailed after admitting a sexual offence against a teenage girl in Kirklees.
Aslam Masood, aged 51, from the Lister Hills area of Bradford, was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on Monday 1 June.
Masood admitted an offence of adult sexual activity with a girl aged between 13 and 17.
The offence took place in Kirklees on 20 February 2024 and was reported to police two days later by the victim.
Masood was sentenced to 15 months in prison and was also made subject to a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
West Yorkshire Police said specialist safeguarding officers had praised the victim for her bravery in reporting the offence and supporting the investigation.
Detective Constable O'Donnell of the Kirklees Adult Safeguarding Unit said the victim had shown real courage in coming forward and helping bring Masood to justice.
Police are continuing to encourage victims of sexual offences to come forward, stressing that all reports are investigated by specially trained officers.
