Police in Huddersfield are appealing for information after a 19-year-old girl was attacked at Greenhead Park.
The incident happened last Thursday (7 April) between 6:30 and 6:45pm where the teenager was approached by a male suspect who attacked her hitting her in the face in a hammering motion with a silver object (possibly a knife) several times.
The teenager was taken to hospital and was treated for minor injuries.
The suspect is described as a black male, in his mid to late 20s, 5ft 9", slim build and a shaved head. He spoke with an American accent and was wearing a black t-shirt, burgundy scarf, baggy light blue jeans and black Nike TN trainers.
DC Andy Clayton of Huddersfield CID, said: "We are appealing to the public for any information about the suspect who attacked this young woman in Greenhead Park. Thankfully she sustained minor injuries, but was extremely distressed by the incident.
