An 18-year-old has been arrested in Great Manchester following a double robbery.
The arrest was made after a house in Mottram was targeted by burglars twice in one day.
On Thursday, 11 May, the victim, a 71-year-old man, was awoken by the sound of the front door of his home being knocked down before coming downstairs to find that his car had been stolen.
The contents of the stolen car, including a wheelchair, were later found discarded on Meadow Street in Hyde. The items were recovered by police and reunited with the owners.
Just before 12:55pm that same day, three offenders turned up at the property to steal a Volvo that was left behind during the first burglary despite the keys being taken.
As the victim came out of his home to be confronted with the sight of his car being stolen, the offenders laughed and gesticulated at him as they drove off.
The car was later spotted by an off-duty police officer, who reported the sighting.
Officers attended the scene and an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and remains in custody for questioning.
