Detectives are appealing for information after a taxi driver was attacked in Glasgow in the early hours of Saturday 8 April.
At around 02:00am police received a report of a 30-year-old male taxi driver having been stabbed during an altercation on Altyre Street.
The man had previously picked up two men and a woman on Hamilton Road. When they arrived on Altyre Street, the man sitting in the passenger seat produced a knife and demanded money.
The taxi driver got out of the car, at which point a group of men and women appeared from a property, surrounding the man and assaulting him, before making their way back inside.
The first male passenger in the taxi is described as short, in his late 20s, of medium build and spoke with a Glasgow accent.
The female passenger is described as around 5ft 4in, and of slim build.
Detective Inspector Tom McKean said: “This type of behaviour is disgraceful and simply will not be tolerated and our officers will do everything they can to find the people responsible for this despicable crime. I would appeal to anyone who was on Altyre Street or the surrounding area in the early hours of the morning, who may have witnessed a disturbance or saw anything suspicious, to get in touch. Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Shettleston CID via 101.”
