Opera North will break out of the theatre this week for a pop-up performance in Bradford’s Broadway Shopping Centre.
Three singers and an accordion player will perform a mish-mash of music from The Merry Widow, Tosca and The Magic Flute in Whistle Stop Opera.
Pop Up Opera will take place at the M&S cafe on Friday 12 October 5.30-6pm and 7pm at The Brick Box.
Steven Philips, Producer, Opera North, said: “We are delighted to bring Whistle Stop Opera to Bradford for the first time this week.
“Performing in the heart of the city, we hope our introduction to opera will appeal to both first time audiences and those who just want to find out a little more. With only three singers and an accordion player we would encourage anyone who just loves music to give it a try.”
Coun Sarah Ferriby, Healthy People and Places Portfolio Holder, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to see professional Opera performed in the heart of Bradford.
“We are committed to improving the cultural offer in the city and encourage everyone to come along and enjoy these free pop up performances.”
