Detectives have reported that a firearms incident was the reason behind a major police operation on Sunday (2 April 2017) on Binnie Street, Barkerend, in Bradford.
Police discovered gunshot damage to a van when they were called out to the sound of shots fired at around 11.55pm on Saturday night. A 33-year-old man was arrested but has been bailed, pending further enquiries.
Detective Inspector Paul Smith, of Protective Services Crime at West Yorkshire Police, said: "Our inquiries remain on-going but we believe this was a targeted attack and we haven't had any reports of any injuries. I would ask anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of this incident to please get in touch. I would also appeal for anyone who saw a black Volkswagen Golf driving in the area at around this time to also get in contact with police."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Bradford CID on 101.
