The death of a pupil at Manchester College who suddenly collapsed and died yesterday is being treated as unexplained.
A GMP spokesman said: “Shortly after 1.20pm on Tuesday 15 November 2016 police were called to Manchester College on Rochdale Road in Harpurhey to a report that a girl had collapsed."
“Emergency services attended but the girl was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries into the death are on-going.”
“The girl’s family is being offered specialist support at this time and support is also being offered to teachers and students.”
Lisa O’Loughlin, The Manchester College Principal, told reporters: ”We are all extremely saddened by the loss of one of our students, our deepest sympathies are with her family and friends and we are providing full support to our students and staff at this difficult time.”
