The library will open on Thursday, 28 April following a £640,000 refurbishment to improve the building and facilities for local residents.
The new electrics and heating system will reduce future running costs ensuring the maintenance of the building is more sustainable.
Additional services will also be moved into the library so there is no need to find additional new buildings.
The newly positioned meeting rooms have been refurbished for the many community groups that use them.
Customers will also be able to issue and return their own books and access their library accounts via the self service kiosk.
Phil Barker, Bradford Council's Assistant Director for Sport and Culture, said: "This refurbishment will not only improve the library for the many users but it will be more sustainable for the future."
It is the first refurbishment of the library since it opened in 1985 and is one of the busiest libraries in the district attracting 284,000 visitors every year.
An opening event will be held later in May with events and activities for everyone to come and look at the library.
