Seven Jailed for Over 40 Years in Halifax Drugs Crackdown

Seven people have been jailed for a combined total of more than 40 years following a major investigation into drug supply networks operating in and around Halifax.

Seven people have been jailed for more than 40 years in total for their involvement in large-scale drug supply in Halifax.

The sentences follow a year-long investigation launched in November 2023, targeting drug lines operating in the town centre and surrounding areas. The operation was led by Calderdale’s Precision Team, working alongside specialist units from West Yorkshire Police and regional organised crime officers.

In total, 36 people were arrested, with 27 charged with more than 110 offences, including the supply and conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

Following a two-day sentencing hearing at Bradford Crown Court, seven defendants received prison sentences. Police say further sentencings and trials are expected in the coming weeks.

Superintendent Gary Panther said the sentences reflect the serious harm caused by drug supply and warned that police will continue to take decisive action to protect local communities.
