Police are appealing for information after a 17-year-old youth was seriously injured in a knife attack in Huddersfield.
The male victim received a serious injury to his hand when he was assaulted by a male with a machete type weapon near to Arnold Street, in Birkby, on Saturday, July 2.
Police were alerted at about 6.30pm when the victim attended Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
He remains in hospital in a stable condition. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Detective Constable Paul Morrison, of Kirklees District CID, said: "This was a very serious assault with a weapon and the victim could be left with life-changing injuries. We are investigating the incident as a wounding with intent and we would like to hear from any witnesses. We believe the area would have been busy at the time and we would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened or who has any information that could assist the investigation."
