Whilst searches in the Ben Nevis area have been hampered by treacherous weather conditions for Rachel Slater and Tim Newton, Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team (LMRT) are hopeful they will resume their searches today.
Concern was raised on Monday afternoon (Monday 15th February 2016) for Rachel Slater (24) and Tim Newton (27) from the Bradford area. It is believed the couple camped in the vicinity of the CIC hut in a green tent and would have been wearing climbing gear.
Both Rachel and Tim's family continue to be appraised of the progress of the efforts to find the pair.
Police Scotland continues to receive reports in connection with the ongoing appeal and would continue to ask anyone who has information, no matter how insignificant they may deem it to be, to contact police on 101. There have been a number of reports from other climbers and hillwalkers of their own movements between Friday 14th February and Sunday 16th February and whilst not all of these reports will have been sightings of Tim and Rachel, this information does help to build a positive line of inquiry as to areas considered for future search operations.
