Black Dyke Mills in Queensbury made a major step in its redevelopment programme with a “re-opening ceremony” of an old entranceway.
The entrance had been bricked up for half a century before being re-opened over the weekend.
It is hoped the iconic mill, which has been mostly empty over recent decades, will once again become the heart and soul of the community.
Its doors were open on Sunday as one of the viewing hubs for the Tour de Yorkshire, which passed through the village.
It is believed that the restored archway will attract more businesses and visitors to the site.
