Two people have been arrested after a cannabis farm was found at an address in the Thornton Lodge area of Huddersfield.
Acting on information from the local community, officers from Huddersfield attended an address in Crosland Road on Monday (7/11). Approximately 239 fully-grown plants were found which were ready for harvesting. A further 135 fully grown plants were found drying out as well as a large quantity of dried cannabis.
Two men, aged 21 and 28, from Huddersfield, have been arrested on suspicion of the production of a controlled drug and immigration offences.
Inspector Paul Campbell, from Huddersfield Neighbourhoods at Kirklees District Police, said: "The drugs have now been sent for destruction and the farm has been dismantled."
"Thanks to information received from the local community, we have prevented a significant amount of cannabis from potentially being sold on our streets."
"We will act on any information from members of the public about the production, sale and use of illegal drugs in our communities and would urge anyone with concerns or information about such activity in their area to call police."
