Police in Calderdale are reintroducing an operation to bring safety to the district’s roads.
Operation Hawmill commenced in September 2016 to focus on tackling four major offences on the road – intoxication, speeding, using a mobile phone and not wearing a seatbelt.
Numerous drivers were penalised for these offences, as well as a number of potentially dangerous vehicles being seized for having no insurance or being used anti-socially.
Calderdale Council has provided extra funding, allowing the operation to be deployed for a further 12 months.
