Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a police car.
Shortly before 3:30am this morning, Thursday 10 November 2016, a marked police car travelling on Liverpool Road, Salford was involved in a collision with a black Mercedes C200.
Two officers who were travelling in the car at the time of the collision were taken to hospital for treatment for their injuries. One of the officers has since been discharged and the other remains in a stable condition.
The driver of the Mercedes was also taken to hospital as a precautionary measure but has since been discharged.
A 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.
Sergeant Helen Hallworth of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We have launched an extensive investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision and I’m appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.”
“We have arrested a man in connection with the incident but need the public’s help to continue with our investigation."
